Howell Nature Center Trip this Friday, September 5th!

(right) taken at the SK Howell Nature Center trip 2011)

The Howell Nature Center Trip is an annual SK tradition and is a great way for our school to explore beautiful natural surroundings.   We also get lots of fresh air and learn about the many inhabitants and the history of Michigan.   Kindergartners, in particular, will attend three workshops:

"Fur and Feathers" (here we learn about Michigan's indigenous animals)

"Pond Exploration "  (we will investigate the world of animal and plant water/near water dwellers)

and try out our survival skills with  traditional "Native American Games."

We will eat a provided lunch on sight midday and return to school before regular dismissal.   This trip takes place rain or shine so please consider sending your child in layered clothing and with some very comfortable walking shoes.  Long pants, a hat, a water bottle, sunscreen and insect repellent are also recommended.

Also, you are more than welcome to come out and join us for any or all of the day!  It is a very fun and informative adventure!

  1. Daniel's looking forward to this. I'm looking to share a ride out and back as there is no room on the bus and I'll be joining the kindergarten class for the day.
